产品简介：This design reflects the classical lines and superb veneer work typical of English baroque furniture. The top has a book and butt matched in highly figured walnut, a herringbone inlay, and a shaped edge. An architectural frieze accommodates a working drawer over elongated S-scroll legs, each with carved foliage and elaborate rosettes. The idea of shape extends to a concave stretcher joining bun feet. Circa 1680. The original resides in Floors Castle, home to the Duke of Roxurghe, once a fortress but later redesigned in a most symmetric way by the legendary Robert Adam. In the 19th century, the architect William Playfair added details transforming it to a fairy tale vision of an English castle. In the 20th century, Floors became home to a superb collection of art and furniture popular with its many international visitors.
