The top offers a simple but dramatic quartered mahogany field. An architectural stepped cove molding casts shadows over recessed doors. Flat-cut mahogany, with the cathedrals running vertically, softly ripples with the light. Discrete key-handle pulls preserve an orderly façade. With two interior drawers and a silver liner, the Moderne was conceived as a substantial sideboard with adjustable shelves for plate and platter storage. Some might also use it to anchor art, a statement mirror, or even a wall-mounted television. At the same time, the strong lines of the molding make it a versatile complement to the Moderne Bed.
