Rather than rectangular, the back has a distinctive notch nodding to the graphic lines of Josef Hoffmann's architectural magnum opus, the Stoclet Palace. With the benefit of a strong inside taper, the front legs flare slightly. The back legs have an exaggerated sweep. An upholstered chair is ultimately about the fabric. Here, Laura Kirar creates a neutral frame lending itself to virtually anything-whether modern, something traditional, or a creative combination fabric. Together with a subtle curve to the back and perfect pitch, an upholstered back means outstanding comfort. The result is a dining chair pleasing both in appearance and in use.
