The joinery, and particularly the compound miter unifying the legs, is handwork at the highest level and correctly celebrated with a brass cap. The delicate rim boasts five chamfered edges, and bird-like legs are abstract sculpture tapering to a long tail. Hexagonal brass feet are a couture touch. This is a statement cocktail table designed to anchor a setting. The negative space shows off the Dana's sculptural character, but the greatest advantage of glass is its ability to capitalize on a fine rug. The round form works well in traffic, and the size is usually suitable for sofas up to 90 inches.
